Our commitment

Everyone has the right to live free from abuse and neglect. We take a zero tolerance approach to abuse and work to keep the people we care for safe. All our staff receive safeguarding training as part of their induction and refresh it every year.

Our Commitment to Your Safety and Wellbeing

Abuse can take many forms, including physical, emotional, sexual, financial, neglect, discriminatory and organisational abuse. Staff are trained to recognise the signs and to act on them.

If someone is in immediate danger

If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. Do not wait to tell us first.

How to report a concern

If you suspect abuse but the person is not in immediate danger, you can report it in any of these ways:

• Tell a member of our team or a manager.
• Call us on 0118 391 3542.
• Contact your local authority adult social care safeguarding team (Reading Borough Council: 0118 937 3747; Wokingham Borough Council: 0118 974 6371; Bracknell Forest Council: 01344 351 500; West Berkshire Council: 01635 519 000).
• Call the police on 999 if the situation becomes an emergency.

What we do when a concern is raised

We take every report seriously. We follow the safeguarding procedures set out by the local authority and the Care Act 2014. We record the concern, investigate it and refer it to the local authority safeguarding team where required. We report concerns to the local authority safeguarding team for the area where the person lives.
