About Apex Healthcare Services
Founded in Reading in 2016. Caring for Berkshire families since 2017. Ten years old this September.

What we mean by care like family
The simple test we hold everything to. The care we give should be as good as we would want for our own family. Not better, not worse. The same.
Visits from fifteen minutes
We do not insist on an hour. If your mum needs ten minutes for her tablets and a cup of tea, that is the visit. A person is not a time slot, and pretending otherwise makes care worse, not better.
The same small team
We do our best to send the same small team, so your dad sees faces he knows, not a rota of strangers. We tell you straight if we ever cannot, rather than quietly sending someone new. A familiar carer knows that he takes his tea weak, that the back step is a trip hazard, and that he does not like to be hurried. That beats a tidy timetable every time.
We say no when we have to
If we cannot do something properly, we say so on the first phone call. We would rather lose an enquiry than let a family down three weeks in. Ask us on your first call whether we can really cover it, and you will get a straight answer.
Over 300 carers trained a year
Our training academy trains carers from other companies too. Over 300 external carers a year come through our doors. Raising the standard everywhere, not just inside Apex, is part of the job.

We began training carers from other companies too, because raising the standard everywhere matters.

What makes us different
Visits from 15 minutes
No rigid one-hour minimums. Care planned around outcomes, not the clock.
Our own training academy
Every member of our team completes enhanced annual training. We also train carers from other providers.
Consistent team
Your loved one sees familiar faces, not a rotation of strangers.
Our registrations
Apex Healthcare Services is registered with the Care Quality Commission and rated Good. We are a member of Skills for Care, the Berkshire Care Association and CARE National. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office for data protection, and our team are trained Dementia Friends. We are an approved home care provider for Reading Borough, Wokingham Borough and West Berkshire councils, and we work alongside NHS discharge teams across Berkshire. Council and NHS logos are trademarks and are not shown here. These relationships are commissioning arrangements, not endorsements.
Regulated by the Care Quality Commission
We are registered with the CQC, the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. That means we are inspected and held to national standards of safety, effectiveness, compassion and responsiveness.
Part of Berkshire
We do not just work here, we are part of the place. We work alongside Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire councils as an approved home care provider. We are a member of the Berkshire Care Association. Our training academy trains carers from other local providers too, because raising the standard everywhere matters more than keeping it to ourselves.
Growing carefully
We are bringing the same standard to more Berkshire towns, not growing for its own sake. Our Bracknell branch is up and running, and our franchise model lets the right people open the same kind of care in the towns we have not reached yet. If you are thinking about building a care business in your own community, you can find out more at apexcarefranchise.co.uk.
Arrange a free initial meeting
